First 'Be a Kli' Project in India - a huge success!!

Picture
From the 19th - 26th of May, we led 15 Israeli backpackers into the foothills of the Himalayas, to volunteer in local schools. It was an amazing experience for all involved. We ran workshops, provided schools materials for over 200 children and painted the walls with colourful animals and Indian national emblems.

In the afternoon we learnt Hindi, and practiced meditation, yoga and tai chi. We cooked our own food together and in the evenings had deep discussions about the meaning of life, comparative religion and the deep wisdom and spiritual insight of the Torah. Secular and religious Jews worked and learnt together in an open an accepting environment. We all grew as individuals and as a group.

The group became very close and we are commited to continuing our work in Israel, meeting for learning and volunteer sessions. This is the beginning of a movement, a movement to bring people together to reach their own potential in life whilst helping other people reach theirs.

An article appeared in Monday 8th Jerusalem Post - you can read it by clicking here

All for the Kids Fundraising Walk 2008

From March 31st - May 16th , 3 men took part in the All for the Kids Fundraising Walk 2008. It was a gruelling 960 kms, from Tel Dan in the North of Israel to Eilat in the south, to raise money for children's charities in Israel and Africa and show the Malawians that we are fulfilling our role in Tikkun Olam (fixing the world).  Read all about it here

After the success of the walk, we started to look for a bigger and better way to fulfill our aims. Project 'Be a Kli' was born. Read about it here
